You should have worn gloves when stripping the lead paint as lead can be absorbed through the skin.

ok, why do you go back and forth between hide glue and wood glue?
Because sometimes I forget to grab the hide glue. No reason really. Whatever is closest but hide glue is preferred on something like this. I just don't like using it.
